ABOUT THE ARTIST:


     Carole Myers' paintings concern a Spiritual response to life, and are often painted to music. As an experimental painter, she works in watercolor, mixed media/collage and acrylic on paper, as well as acrylic and collage on canvas. The Southwest and Mexico have been major sources of inspiration for her strong, colorful abstractions. Carole studied painting and drawing at The Instituto Allende, (University of Guanajuato,) San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.
    Carole taught painting workshops throughout the United States, including Hawaii, Mexico and France.
    She also judged numerous painting exhibitions nationwide.

    Carole's paintings have won more than three-hundred awards in International, National and Regional Exhibitions, including The High Winds Medal Award and The John Young-Hunter Memorial Award from The American Watercolor Society's 112th and 122nd Annuals, Airfloat Strongbox Award from the 83rd Annual Exhibition of The National Watercolor Society, five awards from The National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic Exhibitions, four from The San Diego Watercolor Society International Exhibitions, First Award in The Watercolor Art Society of Houston 23rd International, Merit Award, WAS-HO 22nd and 26th Internationals, two awards from The National Association of Women Artists, two awards from The Texas Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition, and others.

Vernon, IL, Indiana Artists Club 58th Annual Exhibition, Indianapolis, IN, 10th Annual Spring Juried Art Exhibition, Museum of the Southwest, Midland, TX, Watercolor Society of South Texas Members' Show, Corpus Christi, TX.


  
    When selecting works for exhibitions, she chose works that revealed the spirit of the artist; work that is memorable, unique, inviting the viewer to go within, become excited and involved with the artists' vision. Her criterion is quality, regardless of style.
